The pump price is only half the story. Fuel Fighter ranks stations by True Cost — what you actually pay when you factor in the fuel burned getting there.

What is True Cost?

The price at the station doesn't include the fuel you burn driving to get there. A cheaper station 10 km away can cost more overall than a pricier one around the corner. Likewise a station that's slightly more expensive but on the way to your destination could save you money.

True Cost accounts for that, ranking every nearby station by the real total you'll spend:

Formula
true cost = fill-up + trip cost

total litres = litres to get there (and back) + litres to fill

fill-up = pump price per litre × total litres

trip cost = fuel burned to reach station × pump price

eff. rate = true cost ÷ total litres

How It Works

  1. 1Set your location (click GPS or manually enter an address).
  2. 2Adjust your fuel efficiency and litres needed. Pick your fuel type.
  3. 3Optionally add a destination to factor in round-trip or detour costs.
  4. 4Hit Find Best Station — every station is ranked by true cost, not just pump price.

Privacy

  • Geolocation is ephemeral — used only for the current session and never stored on the server.
  • No accounts, no cookies for tracking, no personal data collected.
  • Address searches go through OpenStreetMap Nominatim (free, open data).
  • All calculations happen on the server; only the minimum inputs are sent.
